Lotus Organics Day Spa & Wellness is independently owned and operated by Lisa M. Parnell. Lisa's earlier adult life was spent earning a college degree in English and a minor in Music before going on to work briefly in the corporate world. Looking for a more meaningful and enjoyable way to spend her life, she later opted to return to school to become licensed in Esthetics (skincare) in 2006 before opening her business in Normal Illinois. During the early years in the wellness industry, Lisa also went on to receive training and certification in Usui Reiki energy healing, eventually certifying all the way up to the Master-Teacher level. In March of 2009, Lisa moved to her current location in Bloomington. While at this location, in 2011 she went back for additional schooling to become dually licensed in Massage Therapy. Over the years, Lisa has built her business around a focus of natural and organic modalities aimed at relaxation and getting the body back to its natural state of bliss. Her latest holistic addition is that of Sound Therapy. Coming full circle with her previous musical roots, in 2026 Lisa became certified in using various musical instruments and their vibrational frequencies to rebalance the body's nervous system, using ancient knowledge and techniques to promote wellness on a full mind, body, and soul level.

Outside of the office, Lisa enjoys spending time with her husband, their child-like dog (Izzy), and their pet rabbit (Cotton), guinea pig (Rosie), and two African dwarf frogs. She is an avid crafter and aspiring photographer, with a particular love for nature photography. She also loves all things Halloween and Christmas. Whenever they get the chance, Lisa and her husband love to travel, especially to anywhere with a great zoo or aquarium, or gorgeous natural scenery.

About the Practitioner

“As a lotus flower is born in water, grows in water and rises out of water to stand above it unsoiled, so I, born in the world, raised in the world having overcome the world, live unsoiled by the world.” — Buddha
